Refund Policy

Last updated: July 11, 2026

This Refund Policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for paid plans of the Backlex managed cloud ("the Service", "we"). It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service.

1. Free plan

The Free plan requires no payment card and is never charged. When its limits are reached the project is restricted, not deleted: further requests are rejected once the request quota is exhausted, and writes are blocked once the storage quota is exhausted, while reads keep working. There is nothing to refund on the Free plan.

2. Cancel any time

You can cancel a paid subscription at any time from your billing settings in the cloud dashboard, or by emailing us. Cancelling stops the next renewal — your plan stays active for the remainder of the billing period you have already paid for, and then reverts to the Free plan. You will not be charged again.

3. Refunds

Because you keep access to your paid plan until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, fees for the current period are generally non-refundable. If something went wrong — a billing error, a duplicate charge, or an accidental renewal — get in touch and we will review your request in good faith and refund where it is warranted.

  • One-time charges and usage-based add-ons that have already been consumed (for example extra request packs, storage, or AI overage that has already been used) are non-refundable.
  • Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method.

This section describes our own refund practice. It does not affect the statutory rights described in section 4.

4. Statutory right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance purchase within 14 days of the order. Because the managed cloud is a digital service that begins as soon as you subscribe, you expressly ask us at checkout to start providing it during that period. Its effect depends on where you are:

  • Consumers in Türkiye: the right of withdrawal ends once we begin performing the service.
  • Consumers in the EU/EEA or the United Kingdom: the right ends only once the service has been fully performed. If you withdraw before then, we refund what you paid less a proportionate amount for the part already provided.

To withdraw, email us any clear statement of your decision — you can use this model form:

To: Backlex, hi@backlex.com — I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the Backlex subscription ordered on [date]. Account email: [email]. Name: [name]. Date: [date].

We will arrange the refund through our Merchant of Record. The full terms of this right are in our Terms of Service. Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory consumer right.

5. Payments & Merchant of Record

Payments for the managed cloud are processed by our Merchant of Record, Polar (Polar Software Inc.), which acts as the seller of record and handles billing, tax, and the issuing of refunds on our behalf. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method through Polar and typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card provider.

6. How to cancel or request a refund

To cancel, open the billing settings in your cloud dashboard and use "Cancel plan", or email us. Your card details and invoices are managed in the Polar customer portal, which you can reach from the same page via "Manage subscription". To request a refund in the circumstances described above, email us at hi@backlex.com with your account email and the subscription concerned, and we will review and respond.

7. Changes

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. We will publish the updated policy on this page; the version in effect at the time of your purchase applies to that purchase.
