This Refund Policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for paid plans of the backlex managed cloud ("the Service", "we"). It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service.
The Free plan requires no payment card and is never charged. When its limits are reached, the project pauses until you upgrade or export your data. There is nothing to refund on the Free plan.
You can cancel a paid subscription at any time from your billing settings in the cloud dashboard, or by emailing us. Cancelling stops the next renewal — your plan stays active for the remainder of the billing period you have already paid for, and then reverts to the Free plan. You will not be charged again.
Because you keep access to your paid plan until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, fees for the current period are generally non-refundable. If something went wrong — a billing error, a duplicate charge, or an accidental renewal — get in touch and we will review your request in good faith and refund where it is warranted.
Payments for the managed cloud are processed by our Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy, which handles billing, tax, and the issuing of refunds on our behalf. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method through Lemon Squeezy and typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card provider.
To cancel, open the billing settings in your cloud dashboard and use the "Manage subscription" link to the Lemon Squeezy customer portal, or email us. To request a refund in the circumstances described above, email us at hi@backlex.com with your account email and the subscription concerned, and we will review and respond.
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. We will publish the updated policy on this page; the version in effect at the time of your purchase applies to that purchase.
